The Tiny House Project is one of Dawn Lynch’s PBL projects that all three 6th grade math classes participated in this year. Students got to choose their own design teams and were given constraints for their tiny house project. One of the biggest parts of the project was learning to work together as a team. They had a lot of discussions regarding the different personalities and tying it to the enneagrams and how to work together. They covered math standards such as area, scales, and measurements. Other skills learned were the design process, mistakes are part of the learning process, and the research standards. When Mrs. Lynch found out that Mrs. Howe was building homes as well, it was a perfect way for them to tie their two classes together by having the seniors as their "potential" buyers and give constructive feedback to the students on their house plans and tiny model. The students were very excited about showcasing their work and nervous, too. Plus, they are super excited about Alyssa's project with her seniors and can't wait to do her project when they are seniors. What a perfect connection between classes! #good2bgreen

The junior high girls'track team had an exceptional season, achieving great success both individually and as a team. Under the guidance of Coach Emily Brinkman, the athletes displayed their talent, determination, and passion throughout the season, culminating in an undefeated regular season as well as placing first in the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference. Coach Brinkman, in reflecting on the season, expressed her gratitude for the extraordinary opportunity to work with such a remarkable group of athletes. The team's love for the sport and for each other played a crucial role in their success. The dedication and commitment shown by these young athletes were evident as they poured their heart and soul into their performances on and off the track. The girls defended their PLAC title for the third consecutive year, a testament to their unwavering drive and exceptional abilities. At the beginning of the season, the girls were initially unsure about their running abilities. However, through hard work, perseverance, and the support of their teammates, they grew in confidence and ultimately shined in their respective events. Each athlete showed tremendous improvement and embraced her potential, contributing to the overall success of the team. Beyond the accomplishments on the track, the team fostered a strong sense of camaraderie and bonding throughout the season. One of the highlights mentioned by Coach Brinkman was the Fun Fridays, where the girls engaged in games and shared laughter. These activities played a crucial role in strengthening their relationships and creating a positive team environment. Coach Brinkman voiced she will always cherish the memories of the season, particularly the interactions with her athletes. Coach Brinkman is immensely proud of their accomplishments and feels honored to have witnessed their success on and off the track.
