First grade has been learning about how people respond to the powerful force of the wind during this wit and wisdom module. We have also been learning about powerful forces of feelings. We had an end of module celebration, wrapping up by decorating our own kites. We learned so much and really enjoyed our books and our activity! We can’t wait to fly our new kites!

Our 6th-8th grade AVID students participated in the Amazing Shake with local businesspeople today. The Amazing Shake is a dynamic and exciting live competition that rallies leaders and role models in a school’s community together to teach students about professional skills for success. Students had to participate in 18 scenarios, some of which included giving a toast, an impromptu interview, giving a newscast with breaking news, an elevator talk, and several others. Thank you to our committee members for helping us provide this opportunity for kids.
