Perry Central has been designated by CELL (Center for Excellence of Leadership & Learning) as an Early College High School through a partnership with Ivy Tech Community College. Ivy Tech provides a College Connection Coach, Mrs. Laura Purcell, who helps students with college and career planning. Mrs. Stumler's Kindergarten class has been studying the seven continents in Wit and Wisdom. Last week they studied Europe and Asia and learned a fan dance. Next year, they plan to participate in the international night with their fan dance. #good2bgreen

For the graduating class of 2025, 40 PC students will graduate with the Indiana College Core (ICC)! Students are saving so much time and money on college while in high school. Obtaining an ICC Certificate means earning at least 30 dual credits. Are you ready for a night of excitement, mystery, and fun? Save the date for a Scavenger Hunt to support PC girls softball on Saturday, May 17th. The check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. at the Perry Central Pavilion (by the softball field). Scavenger hunt will be from 6:00-11:00 p.m. $10.00 entry fee per person. We want to welcome grandparents and special friends to the Elementary Track Meet & Grandparent's Day. Come and enjoy the elementary track meet, the BOGO Book Fair and special music performances for each grade level, coordinated by Mrs. Esarey! When you arrive, please go to the bleachers on the home side of the track. Mrs. Esarey and students will perform on the track. After the performance, guests can meet up with their students.

Congratulations to Lyla Schultz for winning the Innovate WithIN Region 1 competition in Evansville on last Friday! Lyla received a $1,000 investment for her business, Lovey Duv, along with scholarships to various Indiana colleges and an entrepreneurship trip to Washington D.C. She’ll now compete as one of 10 finalists for a $25,000 investment at the State competition in Indianapolis on June 20. Good luck, Lyla!
Studies show that “the average teen reports spending more than seven hours a day on screen-based leisure activities (not including school and homework).” Jonathan Haidt, author of The Anxious Generation, warns in his book that excessive screen time can crowd out sleep, exercise, and family interactions. Work with your teen to create a balanced daily schedule that prioritizes offline activities. If you are worried your teen isn’t making healthy choices with their time, don’t be afraid to set boundaries and limits to keep them safe.
