Perry Central Community School Corporation provides a variety of services for high ability students. The following document provides a general outline for how high ability students are identified and served.

Perry Central High Ability Identification and Service Plan

Honors, Advanced Placement, and Early College High School

Perry Central begins offering honors level courses to students in 6th grade (pre-algebra).  Starting in grade 7, identified students may accelerate through English classes and enroll in high school credit-bearing courses.  Specific honors and AP courses follow:

  • Honors English 9, 10, 11, 12

  • Honors Algebra (Algebra 8), Honors Algebra II, Honors Geometry, Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry

  • Advanced Placement English Language and Composition

  • Advanced Placement English Language and Literature

  • Advanced Placement US History

  • Advanced Placement Biology

  • Advanced Placement Calculus


Perry Central Junior-Senior High School has a strong partnership with Ivy Tech Community College and offers the General Core Transfer 30, which provide students an opportunity to earn 30 dual credits that will transfer to any Indiana public college or university.  Essentially, students complete their first year of college while in high school.  In addition, Perry Central Junior-Senior High School is an Emerging Early College High School.  For more information on dual credit and the Early College High School Model, click
