IMPORTANT NEWS ~  

Jr High PLAC starts at 4:45 on Friday, April 26th.

Athletic physicals will be held on Tuesday, April 30th. Grades 4-7 will report to the HS commons area at 4:30 to start the preliminaries. Grades 8-11 will start preliminaries at 5:30. Please stop by the Elementary or HS office to pick up a physical form which must be complete with student and parent signatures when you come to get your physical.

FFA Fishing Tourney -- Two competition classes : Biggest Bass and Most Overall Weight. Prizes for winners top three of both classes. The winner of Biggest Bass Wins $ 100. Entry fee is $ 10 for a single person or $ 20 for a team of three. The sign up sheet is in Mrs Guillaume's room in the Ag building. All signup sheets must be paid and turned in by April 23rd. Fishing begins April 26th. Weigh-in is at 4pm on April 27th.

Perry Central School is collecting and recycling PSC phone books through April 26th.  We will receive 50 cents for each book collected and recycled.   All proceeds go toward purchasing school supplies.  Our goal is to collect 700 books. You can monitor our progress by the Family Center window.  Elem. teachers please place the books outside your classrooms. Books will be collected daily around 9 a.m.  High school teachers can leave books in any office or if there is another way you want me to get them without disruption to your classroom, please let Mrs. Foury know.  Thank you for supporting this worthy cause.

PC Summer boys basketball for current 4th & 5th graders will take place on May 28th-30th at 12:30- 2pm each day at HS gym. The camp will consist of three days of skill and fundamental development. The cost is $ 25 per player. Please make checks payable to Perry Central Athletic Fund. Forms need to be returned by Friday, May 10th to the Elementary office.

The 2024 Commodore Boys Basketball Camp for current 6th & 7th graders will take place from 12:30 - 2pm each day at PC High School. We have added practices and two shootouts to this year's program. The cost of the camp will be $ 50 per player. There will be a team bus for players to ride to and from the shootouts. Please make checks payable to PCAF and return them to the office by Friday, May 10th. Attn to Coach Litherland on the envelope.

57th Annual Boys' Basketball Camps available for grade 3 and up at Hanover College. Flyers are available in the Elementary office if interested.

3rd-6th grade 2024 Girls Spring Basketball Camp/League. Camp will be April 30th-May 2nd. League games (Saturdays) will be May 4th, 11th and 18th. Cost is $30. Forms are due by Friday, April 19th. 3rd-4th grade camp is 3-4:15 p.m., 5th-6th grade camp is 4:15-5:30 p.m. Focus will be on the key fundamentals needed as your child continues to develop in the game of basketball. The camp will include sessions working on passing, dribbling, and shooting. The league will work on offensive and defensive principles while having fun playing games! Important Information for grandparents day:

  • On both days an information area will be set up by the pavilion. Please stop there to find out where to meet your student. All activities will be held outside.

  • Concessions will be available for purchase - ran by the student council.

  • Scholastic BOGO Book Fair - Buy One, Get One Free

  • All students are encouraged to remain at school after the track meet.

  • Our guests are encouraged to only stay for their grandchild's session.

  • Petting Zoo will be available only on Friday, May 10th (or rainout date May 13th) from 8:30-2:30, located behind the CTE building. All Classrooms will be invited to attend. Mrs. Carrie Guillaume will have a sign up sheet for teachers.

  • Grandparents Day Schedule for Friday, May 10th with rainout date Monday, May 13th.

    • 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. - All Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten (Two day PK students will need to provide transportation if they wish to come)

    • 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. - Kindergarten

    • 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - 2nd grade

    • 12:45 - 1:45 p.m. - 1st grade

  • Grandparents Day Schedule for Friday, May 17th with rainout date Monday, May 20th.

    • 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. - 4th grade

There will be an instrument try out open house from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Band Room on Wednesday, May 8th for any current 5th grade student wanting to join band next year. See Mrs. Andrea Clark if you have any questions.

Elementary Library is sponsoring a Young Hoosier Competition for grades 3-6 until May 3rd, 2024. There is a list of books that you may read for the competition. For every book report you turn in, you will get one entry for the grand prize. The winner will receive either a Single Season Pass to Holiday World or a Family pack of tickets for Sky Zone for One Day.

Back To School Immunization Bash with Balloon Animals, School Supplies and Door Prizes will be held on July 17th, 3-6:00 p.m. at the Health Department- 3214 Tell Street, Tell City, In If you have questions please call 812-547-2746. Every incoming kindergartener, 6th and 12th grade will require Immunizations.

Junior High Cheer Tryouts for current 6th graders will be May 10th in the dome at 4:15 p.m. Practice will be May 1st from 3:15-4:30 p.m. in the Elementary Gym. If you are interested or have questions, see Mrs. Laci Lynton.

  • May 24th - School make-up Day --- Student and Teachers last day - Students released at 1pm. No Lights On today!

Summer School will be June 3rd - 28th.

SAVE THE DATE: Back to School Night is Monday, August 5th from 5-7:00 p.m.

First day of school for students for 2024-2025 is August 8th.

4-H Outdoor Adventures has a 2024 event schedule that is offered to students in grades 3-12.  The schedule was given to students in grades 3-8.  If you are interested, please pick up a form at the high school or elementary office to fill out and return to school.  Seasonal events included a hike each time, along with kayaking on Vastwood Lake, O'Bannon Woods and Shubael Pioneer Village.  For more information, contact Pam Hilgenhold @ philgenhold@pccommodores.org.

College and Career Week for the elementary will be the week of May 13-17. More information to come.

You're invited to Perry Central's first International Night! Experience diverse cultural dishes, read personal stories, and learn interesting facts from 36 countries. This event pairs with the Art Department's annual paper mache show, themed this year as fantasy creatures from around the world. Join us for a unique and educational adventure on April 30th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

German American Bank offers Perry Central School Spirit debit cards.  The bank donates $.02 to Perry Central for every debit card transaction.  If you currently have a GAB debit card, there is no charge to switch to a PC School Spirit card.   The cards are printed at any location in just a few minutes.

Family Open Centers serve as an opportunity for parents and caregivers of preschool age children to socialize with other parents and children. Open centers will be held in Preschool Classrooms. Please check in at the elementary office. They will be 8:30-10:30 a.m., every 1st and 3rd Friday of the Month. For more information email Brittney Carter at bcarter@pccommodores.org.

This year the Lights-on program have new pickup times so that workshops are not interrupted. A reminder of the pick up times are as follows:
3:00-4:15 p.m.
4:45 p.m.
5:15-6:00 p.m.
