ATHLETIC INFORMATION ~
The varsity football team will travel to Tell City for a game tonight at 7 p.m. **** The varsity cross country co-ed teams will travel to Boonville for a match tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. **** Punt, Pass & Kick competition will be held on the practice football field tomorrow, Aug. 19th from 9 a.m. – 12 noon. **** Football shirts and apparel order forms are due today. Forms are available on the school website and in wall pockets at both offices. **** There will be open softball field days for grades 6-12 every Tues. & Thurs. from 3-5 p.m. on the softball field. If it rains, it will be held in the hitting building. This will continue until weather turns cold enough to not be outside!

Our first “Walk to School” date (weather permitting) will be on Wed., Aug. 23rd. We will start at the pavilion around 7:30 a.m. **** Students involved in Friends of Rachel will meet in the HS gym during WIN/Lunch on Fri., Aug. 25th. **** MENU CHANGE for this week: Today will be Taco Salad. **** FFA sign-up sheets are in the office. **** SAE forms are due to Mrs. Guillaume by Tues., Aug. 22nd. **** Students (gr. 9-12): There is a sign-up sheet for Lit. Club on Ms. Petty’s door. **** If any JH or HS student is interested in being on the Spell Bowl Team stop by Mrs. Walsh’s room for more information! **** Fundraiser Opportunity: German American is hosting their annual Clean Sweep project this Sat., Aug. 19th from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. This is an opportunity for non-profit organizations, clubs, band, or sport teams to pick up trash in the designated locations in the Tell City area. German American will donate $25 per trash bag collected (limit 8 bags). To register your team, please contact Sheila Tempel at German American @ 547-7025 ext. 3250 or 812-719-4266. Space is limited. **** Sign-up for Ory’s Driver Education week-end classes beginning on Tues., Sept. 5th at 812-568-8243. **** We are currently collecting old tennis shoes to be recycled. A large box is located in the HS commons area through Thurs., Aug. 31st.
SCHOLARSHIP & GUIDANCE INFORMATION ~
Education Professions students will meet on Monday during first WIN. Students need to meet during this time even if it is their lunch. Class will meet in the adjunct classroom. If you do not have your classroom assignment, email Ms. Roberson right away to finalize (firstname.lastname@example.org) or stop by her office. **** Senior internship students who are interested in working at Waupaca should sign up in the office for an interview time as soon as possible. Interviews will start at 8:30 a.m. today. **** IU Southeast will be having an open house program on Sat., Oct. 21st from 9 a.m. -12 noon our time. More information is available at www.ius.edu/open-house. **** Information will be posted about college open houses in the hallway by the library. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Backer. **** Lilly scholarships are due Fri., Sept. 1. If you have scored a 25 on the ACT and/or a 1200 on the SAT, you can apply. See Mrs. Backer for more details if you missed the meeting. Also, remember this year there is a recommendation form that is needed from a teacher. Don’t forget to allow the teacher time to fill out the form.
