DISCOVER 4-H: Perry County families are invited to drop-in and Discover 4-H on Thursday, November 15 from 5 - 6 p.m. in the Elementary Cafeteria. Current youth members and adult volunteers will be available to share information about how to 4-H while you explore the variety of projects, leadership opportunities, and upcoming 4-H day camps & 4-H summer camp experiences. 4-H is open to all youth in grades 3-12 as a 4-H member and K-2 graders are invited to join the Exploring 4-H program. HOLIDAY DANCE: Mrs. Clark's 4th grade Class is sponsoring a holiday dance from 1:00 -3:00 in the elementary gym for 5th-6th graders on Tuesday, November 20th. A $2 donation would be greatly appreciated, as all money donated will be given to the Holiday Helpers program here at Perry Central. Drinks will be sold for an additional $1 during the dance. COMMODORE BASKETBALL PARENTS & GRANDPARENTS SHIRT SALES: Support your favorite basketball player with a T-shirt stating "I'll always be your biggest fan" . Shirts are unisex and are for adults only. Price of shirt is $20 each which includes player's name and number on the back of the shirt. Forms are available in the elementary and high school office and are due by Tuesday, November 20. 6TH GRADE SHOT CLINIC: 6th graders who planning to participate in the shot clinic on Friday, November 30th need to make sure they eat a good breakfast that day. The clinic will take place in the morning.
LIGHTS ON GYMNASTICS: Gymnastics will now be offered at Lights-On for students in grades K-6 on Mondays. The workshop will be held from 4:00-5:00. If you have any questions, please call Ms. Dixie at 843-5122.
KINDNESS FOR KAYLA: The family of Kayla Rounds is selling T-Shirt to raise money for suicide prevention. The order form for the Kindness for Kayla T-Shirts are available in the office. Money and form can be turn in to Mrs. Duncan or the high school office.
PIANO LESSONS OFFERED: Sisa Watkins is a graduate from Boyce College with a B.S. in Worship and Music Studies with a concentration in piano, and is currently accepting new students. She has been teaching piano lessons for 6 years. She teaches ages 6 and up, and charges $20 for every 30 minute lesson and $25 for every 45 minute lesson. HAT AND JEAN DAY: Friday is Hat and Jean Day. Students can wear a Hat and Teachers can wear jeans with a $0.50 donation.
BOX TOPS: Please keep collecting box tops to turn in for your classroom. The top two classrooms with the most collected will be rewarded with a pizza and ice cream party. Still time to get in first place, count ends on November 30th for the contest.
COMMODORE TABLE: Families are invited to come to PC and share a free meal once a month. The meal is usually held on the last Tuesday of the month in the cafeteria and starts at 5:30. p.m. Our next meal will be held on November 27th.
BORN LEARNING: Perry Central is partnering with 4C of Southern Indiana to offer a monthly program for families with children birth to 5 years old. It begins with a visit with Community Partners at 5 p.m., followed by the meal (Commodore Table), a half hour parenting session, then a wrap up activity with children. Older siblings are invited and there will be a fun play time for the kids during the parenting session. Topics will include: Building relationships, Building your child's language skills, Nutrition and Health, How Children Learn and Routines and Learning on the go. Next session will be on November 27. Attendance to all sessions is encouraged but not required.
FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT: Perry Central Elementary will host a family literacy night on Tuesday, November 27th starting at 5 p.m. to empower parents to be a part of their child's education. Our goal is to provide sessions to help build parents' understanding of the learning in the classroom. Come out and join us!
IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: The Perry County Health Department holds Immunization clinics for vaccinations. Under-insured and Uninsured children's vaccinations given at $8/shot, however, no one is turned away for inability to pay. Commercially Insured Patients have two clinics: Monday 9-11 a.m. at Perry County Health Department by appointment only (call 812-547-2746) and at Perry County Memorial Hospital every 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. by appointment only (call 547-0128). Medicaid, Under-insured and Non-insured have two clinics: Mondays 1-4 p.m. walk-ins (check in by 3:30) at Perry County Health Department and Tuesdays 9 - 11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. (check in by 3:30) walk ins at Perry County Health Department.
DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE: St. Augustine youth group 4:13 is sponsoring a Daddy Daughter Dance on Saturday, December 1st from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the St. Augustine Parish Hall. Students in grades K-6 are invited to bring their dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, neighbor or male figure to dance the night away with! Cost is $20 per couple and $5 for each additional girl which includes snacks, drinks, a craft and souvenir. Registration forms are due to the Elementary Office by November 20th.
