REMINDER: Parent/Teacher conferences will be this Thursday, September 20. All students will be dismissed at 1:00. Lights on will be available until 7:00 and afternoon buses will run as normal.
ATTENTION: When missing school for an appointment please get a doctor's excuse to turn in the next day. PARAGON: The paragon fundraiser items will be delivered on Friday, September 21st. If your child had a large order please make arrangements with the teacher to pick them up that day or to come back out to get the items. Money is to be collected when delivering the paragon and is due back to school on Wednesday, October 3rd.
ROBOTICS TEAM: The VEX robotics teams for students in grades 5-8 will begin meeting in Mr. Walsh's room (the old elem art room) starting next week on Tuesday the 25th and Thursday the 27th. If you are interested in joining the team, please see Mr. or Mrs. Walsh.
BOX TOPS: Please keep collecting box tops to turn in for your classroom. The top two classrooms with the most collected will be rewarded with a pizza and ice cream party. Still time to get in first place, count ends on November 30th for the contest.
VOLLEYBALL JDRF NIGHT: The PC Volleyball Team is supporting Juvenile Diabetes Research by going BLUE! JDRF T-Shirts were ordered and will be worn to the JV/Varsity game vs. Jasper on September 27th at Perry Central to show our support! There will also be donation jars in each office and at the game on September 27th.
COMMODORE TABLE: Families are invited to come to PC and share a free meal once a month. The meal is held on the last Tuesday of the month in the cafeteria and starts at 5:30. p.m.
BORN LEARNING: Perry Central is partnering with 4C of Southern Indiana to offer a monthly program for families with children birth to 5 years old. It begins with a visit with Community Partners at 5 p.m., followed by the meal (Commodore Table), a half hour parenting session, then a wrap up activity with children. Older siblings are invited and there will be a fun play time for the kids during the parenting session. Topics will include: Building relationships, Building your child's language skills, Nutrition and Health, How Children Learn and Routines and Learning on the go. Next session will be on September 25. Attendance to all sessions is encouraged but not required. CHALK ART CONTEST: There will be a Chalk Art Contest on Saturday, September 22 from 1 - 5:00 p.m. in City Hall Park. Judging will begin at 5:30. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd for 10 & under, 11 - 17 years, 18 - 54 years and 55 & over. For questions contact Shannon Sprinkle (812)568-0157.
ART TO REMEMBER: Perry Central Lights On will be hosting the Art to Remember program. Students will be creating a crayon resist piece and then have the option to purchase personalized keepsake products showcasing your child's work. There will be three workshops for students to participate in: K-2 Students - Wednesday, September 19 3-6 Students - Thursday, September 27.
ICE CREAM SALES: Ice cream and Orange Leaf sales are every Friday! Ice cream is available for $1.00 and Orange Leaf is $2.50.
HAT AND JEAN DAY: Friday is Hat and Jean Day. Students can wear a Hat and Teachers can wear jeans with a $0.50 donation.
