MEDICATION PICK UP: The school nurse would like PARENTS who have students with medication at the school to please pick up their medication (prescription or over-the-counter) by Wednesday, May 22. After that time any medication left will be properly discarded.
OLD T-SHIRTS PLEASE: Commodore manufacturing is in need of t-shirts, ALOT of t-shirts! We will take any and all cotton t-shirts any size and any color that you would like to donate to the class. They are starting a rag business and will be cutting the shirts into strips to distribute to other businesses. They will be selling them by 500lb totes. We need a lot of t-shirts! Money made from the t-shirts will go to the students and a portion will go towards supplies for the operation. There is a small green shack behind the vocational building where they can be dropped off. Thanks for all your support!

PERRY CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SUMMER CAMP: Interested in your child attending P.C. Summer camp this June? We will provide remediation for students who may need a little extra to maintain reading, writing and/or math skills. In addition to remediation and reading practice, we will have some enrichment activities, including field trips focused around science, math, history and the arts! COLOR GUARD: Interested in joining color guard? Color guard performs with the marching band during the football season and other performances at school, parades and Band Days. TRACK CAMP: The varsity track team and coaches are hosting track camp again this summer for anybody entering grades Kindergarten-7th grade. Camp will be May 28th-30th from 5-7 in the evenings on our track. The last day of camp there will be a track meet for anybody wanting to participate. Extra forms will be outside the office. SPEED CAMP: Perry Central is offering a speed camp again this summer for athletes in grades 6-12 (2019-20 school year). The camp will focus on explosive speed, coordination and balance, multi-directional movement, and endurance and stamina. Every Monday and Thursday in June from 6:30 – 7:30 am and the cost is $30 per athlete. Pick up a registration form in the slots outside either office or from one of the varsity coaches. Deadline to signup is Friday, May 17th.
4-6TH GRADE GIRLS FUNDAMENTALS BASKETBALL CAMP:2019 Girls fundamentals basketball camp is being offered for girls in grades 4-6 (current grade) on Tuesday, May 28 to Friday, May 31. On May 28 the camp will be located in the high school gym, 29-30 will be located in the dome and then at Heritage Hills on May 31. Cost is $20 per camper (checks should be made payable to PCAF). Money will fund a camp shirt & prizes for daily competitions. This is a 3-day camp that focuses on key fundamentals needed as your child continues to develop in the game of basketball. This will include working on passing, dribbling and shooting. Forms and money are due by Friday, May 17, 2019 to Mr. Elliott or the Elementary Office.
6-7-8-9 BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP: Basketball camp for boys entering 6th thru 9th grade next year will begin on Wednesday, May 29th. Camp dates are May 29th, 30th, 31st, June 3rd and June 4th. The 6th & 7th grades will have camp from 9 - 10:30 a.m. and 8th & 9th grades will be from 10:30 to 12:00 in the high school gym. Cost for each camper will be $20. Please make checks payable to Perry Central Activity Fund. Forms need to be returned by Tuesday, May 21st.
2019 PC PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER ACTIVITIES: Readers of all ages will explore all things space related this summer as the Perry County Public Library presents "A Universe of Stories" during the summer activities. Activities include space-related crafts, art projects, astronomy, astronauts, etc. The summer activities are free of charge and are open to children of all abilities age birth - 18. Registration will start on Monday, May 6, 2019 with summer activities beginning the week of June 3, 2019. Forms are available outside the elementary office with more information.
PIANO LESSONS OFFERED: Sisa Watkins is a graduate from Boyce College with a B.S. in Worship and Music Studies with a concentration in piano, and is currently accepting new students. She has been teaching piano lessons for 6 years. She teaches ages 6 and up, and charges $20 for every 30 minute lesson and $25 for every 45 minute lesson. COMMODORE TABLE: Families are invited to come to PC and share a free meal once a month. The meal is usually held on the last Tuesday of the month in the cafeteria and starts at 5:30. p.m. The next meal will be held on May 28th.
IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: The Perry County Health Department holds Immunization clinics for vaccinations. Under-insured and Uninsured children's vaccinations given at $8/shot, however, no one is turned away for inability to pay. Commercially Insured Patients have two clinics: Monday 9-11 a.m. at Perry County Health Department by appointment only (call 812-547-2746) and at Perry County Memorial Hospital every 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. by appointment only (call 547-0128). Medicaid, Under-insured and Non-insured have two clinics: Mondays 1-4 p.m. walk-ins (check in by 3:30) at Perry County Health Department and Tuesdays 9 - 11 a.m. and 1-4 p.m. (check in by 3:30) walk ins at Perry County Health Department.

GIRL SCOUT CAMPS: There are many different Girl Scout Camp opportunities including Brownie Explores, Family Camp Overnight, Camper Sampler, Trailblazers and Daisy, Brownie and Junior Floating Adventure Day!
